Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Stretching appropriate for?

Stretching is appropriate for absolutely everyone and anyone! Our Stretch Therapists are highly trained to be working with your 94year-old grandma to a professional athlete and will tailor your appointment to your appropriate needs!

Are your Stretch Therapist trained appropriately to work with me?

Yes, absolutely. One thing that makes SOB stand out is we require our Stretch Therapist to be Licensed Body Workers and/or have some sort of Bodyworker Degree. (Ex Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Chiropractic, Massage, etc) This is especially important to us because there is so much about the human body we must know to help you best. Weekend certifications unfortunately will not provide the information needed to work effectively with the human body. See our "Meet Our Staff page" to read more about our Staff..

If this is my first time stretching, which session should I chose?

That depends on what you are looking for. Our 30 min sessions we usually recommend focusing on either upper or lower body. If wanting to focus on full body we recommend the 60! If you are new to stretching, we recommend the table stretch. For more active individuals and those who can get down on the floor, we recommend the SportStretch.

What should I wear to my stretch session?

We highly encourage you to wear something comfortable and flexible. (No pun intended, hehe) Please please please no jeans as it's very challenging for us to give you a great stretch especially when stretching the lower body! We also ask that you please wear socks during your appointment.

Am I supposed to be in pain while I am stretching? Will my stretch therapist hurt me?

NO NO NO! Stretching should NEVER be painful and if someone is hurting you while stretching please NEVER see that person again! We say stretching should "hurt so good" meaning as we're stretching you, it might be a little uncomfortable but it's never to the point of pain.

If I have an active injury can I be Stretch*d?

Usually, the answer is no but please check with your Physician or local Physical Therapist to be sure. If you do have an active injury, for example in your knee, we can still stretch your upper body, however we may need to avoid the lower body until your injury is no longer present. Remember, we do NOT treat or diagnose any injuries here at Stretchd Out Buffalo LLC. If you suspect you have an injury, please consult with your Physician.

If I am pregnant, can I be Stretch*d?

Stretching can be very beneficial for pregnant ladies, however there are restrictions, and we especially CANNOT stretch in the 1st trimester. Please contact your Physician to see if a stretch session is appropriate for you and please contact Stretchd Out Buffalo LLC after approval from your Physician

How often should I stretch?

The American Center for Sports Medicine that makes all recommendations for exercise says that stretching or some sort of movement should be done everyday. So when it comes to being stretched, the more you do it, the more beneficial! We have clients that come every week, twice a week, twice a month, once a month and more. We say the more benefit you want to get out of stretching, the more appointments you should book! But of course, we always say stretching on your own is super important between sessions, we can't do everything for you!

Does Stretchd Out Buffalo take insurance?

Unfortunately insurance does not normally directly cover stretch appointments. Stretch Therapy is covered under all HSA/FSA accounts. Other insurances have Stretch Benefits such as Aetna and United Healthcare and may cover your stretch session depending on your plan. Call your insurance company to see if this feature is covered by your insurance! We now accept Independent Health Wellness Cards and all HSA/FSA accounts for Stretch, Massage and Classes! (Highmark Wellness cards are currently not accepted for use at Stretchd Out Buffalo)

What’s Stretchd Out Buffalo’s cancellation, reschedule and no show policy? Do I need a card on file to hold my appointment?

Yes, we require a card on file to hold your appointment spot and your class reservation. Your card will not be charged until service is complete or if a cancellation/no show occurs. Because we value our time with our clients so much, for all appointments we have a cancellation/Reschedule policy of 24hrs as we may have other members who were wanting the time you originally requested. All cancellations and no shows that are not done within 24 hours will be charged 100% of the service fee. Those with packages will lose a session on their package.
